Steve Stricker used his Titleist golf clubs to win a 3 way playoff, and the title at the Colonial, held in Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday. Stricker had the 36 hole lead, with a record breaking 126.
The 3 way playoff was between Stricker, Tim Clark and Steve Marino. Stricker chipped in for birdie on 17 to get to 17 under and the 3 way tie for first place. On the first playoff hole, Clark could have wrapped up the whole thing with a 7 foot birdie putt, but pulled it. On the next playoff hole (a par 3), Marino pretty much ended his chances off the tee. Stricker knocked it to within 4 feet, and Clark’s shot was headed right at it when it hit the pin, and rolled away from the hole to about 20 feet. Stricker knocked in his birdie putt for the victory.
Here’s what was in Steve Stricker’s Bag

Stricker holds the 8th spot in the world golf rankings, and takes home $1.1 million. Clark remains the man with the most career earnings without a victory. He adds $545 thousand to his total for $13.3 million in career earnings. While that has to be frustrating, I hope he appreciates that he gets to play golf for a living—a very good living. I’m sure he does.
