The Titleist AP2 irons were submitted to Rankmark.com for their testing and comparison with many other brands. The AP2s did very well, taking 4th place, and beat out many other companies. You can click on Titleist golf clubs for a quick overview of all of Titleist’s irons and other clubs.
The AP 2 irons have been very successful on the PGA Tour. So far, in 2009, Nick Watney won the Buick Championship, and Zach Johnson and Adam Scott finished first and second at the Sony Open with the AP2 irons.
One of the things that the testers liked best about the AP2 irons was the looks, which you can see both the AP1 and the AP2 irons in the video below:
I think Titleist is one of the best companies for irons. The AP2 irons were designed for lower handicap players, but reviewers of varying handicaps like them. Many players have said that they’re very forgiving on mis-hits, and go very straight.
Adam Scott said that he’s been playing a forged blade most of his life, and switching over to the AP2s was beneficial to him because they put more spin on the ball, and therefore make it easier for him to work the ball. He says his new irons are far more forgiving, but still have the feel and workability of his blades.
