Free Fairway Wood with Purchase of a Tour Edge Exotics XLD Driver

in

Tour Edge is giving away an Exotics XLD fairway wood with the purchase of a Tour Edge Exotics XLD driver. Tour Edge is the kind of company that generally flies under the radar, but consistently turns out great products. They beat out all of the big companies in testing with the Tour Edge XCG-V driver, taking 2nd only to the Bobby Jones Workshop Edition driver.

Camilo Villegas Excited About His King Cobra S9-1 Driver

in

The King Cobra S9-1 came out a few months ago, and people seem to like it. Geoff Ogilvy has been hitting his S9-1 great. He only took a few swings with it, before deciding it had to go in his bag. Judging from the video below, Camilo is clearly excited about how well he’s hitting his S9-1.

Adams Golf Clubs Serve Lincicome Well in Her 1st Major Championship

in

Twenty-three-year-old Brittany Lincicome won her first major championship on Sunday. The Kraft Nabisco championship is the first major on the LPGA tour so far this year. She started out the final round three strokes behind the leaders, and came back. She finished with an eagle on the last hole and won by one stroke. The last hole involved a 275 yard drive down the middle, a 210 yard hybrid to within four feet of the hole, and a pressure packed four footer for the win. Lincicome is a staff player for Adams golf clubs.

Keith Fergus Wins Cap Cana Championship with Alpha V5 LX Driver

in

Keith Fergus had an awesome come-from-behind victory in the Cap Cana championship on Sunday. He had only recently begun playing with Alpha golf clubs and his Alpha V5 LX driver. I was watching the final round on the Golf Channel last night, and it was between Mark O'Meara and Andy Bean. Mark O'Meara had to birdie one of the last three tough holes to come up with his first Champions tour victory. Keith Fergus was in third and was not really in contention.

Lee Trevino’s TaylorMade Fairway Wood

in

In this month’s issue of Golf Digest, Lee Trevino tells a story about his TaylorMade fairway wood. Specifically, it was a prototype 7 wood, and in 1987, 7 woods were unheard of. The kind folks at TM let Lee take the club home, and he played it shortly thereafter at the 1987 Skins Game at PGA West.

Retief Goosen’s Winning TaylorMade Golf Clubs

in

Retief’s Victory at the Transitions Championship this Sunday was his first since 2006. He putted lights out, making 100% of his puts from within 5 feet, including a pressure-packed 5 footer on the 72nd hole for the victory. While his putting was impressive, hit a lot of greens in regulation. He was in 159th spot for greens in regulation so far in the ’09 season, but improved drastically for this tournament, up to 7th. Retief plays TaylorMade golf clubs, and clearly, they worked pretty well for him.

Chad Campbell to Play Adams Golf Clubs

in

Chad Campbell is one of my favorite players on the PGA Tour. I think mostly because I noticed that one year he won what seemed to be almost all of the tournaments on the Hooters tour. When $20,000 is the amount that a champion of a Hooters tour tournament wins, it was surprising to see Chad Campbell won a lot of money that year. So the reason I like him is because I noticed him before he was ever on the PGA Tour and I've enjoyed seeing his success. You have to expect that someone with a habit of winning would do well on the PGA Tour.

Geoff Ogilvy Wins Handily in Spite of His 3-Wood

in

Geoff Ogilvy beat Paul Casey 4 and 3 to win the Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona this weekend. In case you’re not familiar with what 4 and 3 means, it means that Ogilvy was up by 4 holes with only 3 holes to play, and it would be impossible for Casey to even tie, so they end the match. In other words, he really let Casey have it.

Luke Donald’s Mizuno MP-600 Fast Track 460 Driver

in

Mizuno golf clubs has their own version of an adjustable driver. The MP-600 Fast Track 460 has the USGA maximum allowable club head size of 460 cc. The Fast Track system allows golfers to adjust ball flight using the 2 adjustable 8 gram weights. There are 15 ball flight settings, and this allows adjustment of the center of gravity. All of the reviews of the club I’ve seen have been excellent.

Nike Golf Clubs New Ad With Tiger Woods, Who's Out in the Second Round

in

Nike golf clubs started showing an ad on Wednesday titled “The Good Life” and shows the life that other Nike staff players have been living since Tiger has been off the tour. Trevor Immelman, Anthony Kim, Stuart Cink, and Justin Leonard are shown winning tournaments, and generally living the good life, and being successful in Tiger’s absence.

Woods returned this week to the Accenture Match Play Championship currently going on in Arizona. He had a rough back nine today, and lost to Tim Clark in the second round.
